Road Racers 4 U

"Hi there and welcome to my site.

I have been always interested in motorbike racing ever since my Dad took all of us up to Dundrod,there were not many cars in those days. We walked from the top of the Glen road up through Hannstown to the herpin bend (now the Lindsey herpin) were we made our way round to the Quarry bends which I think is one of the best places to watch the racing from, as from there it is hell for leather to the finish line. I seen some great tussles between many of the top racers at this spot. My first accident I seen there was Derek Minter who was in contention when he lost the bike and went through the hedge, he came away with a broken thumb.

I always had an interest in taking photos and no matter where I went the camera was always with me, even to weddings, infect I took my own wedding at Gretna Green using a tripod and a timer,I made up my own album and still have to this day. My brother got married and he asked if I would be the main photographer at his wedding. I was a very nervous man incase anything went wrong but nothing did and all the photos turned out well.

I always take 2 cameras with me no matter were I go Incase something happens to one of them. I have a good friend who with his Dad took me along to the North West 200 some years ago and taught me how to take good photos of motorbike racing. Most of you guy's will know this lad he is Martin Coard and he is absolutely a supper photography.

I still take crap photos like all the rest but am always willing to listen and learn and if I can help someone else out then I'm only too willing to do so. I always try to treat others as I would like them to treat me, by this I mean respect for the men who do the marshalling around the different race meetings and I find this goes a long way with them.

As you will see that some of my earlier photos were of a poor standard and as the years went on they started to improve but there is always room for more improvement.
